The Yamaha FZ X is offered in three colour options in India for 2026, split across its two variants. All three colours complement the bike's neo-retro design language - there's no awkward off-brand shade in the lineup.
Metallic Black The most understated option, Metallic Black lets the FZ X's shapes do the talking without competing for attention. The chrome and silver trim on the engine fins, exhaust heat shield, and handlebar clamp pop cleanly against the dark bodywork. It's also the most practical daily choice - hides minor road grime and scuffs far better than the matte options. If you're parking in public spaces regularly, black is the low-maintenance pick.
Dark Matte Blue This is the FZ X's signature colour - the shade Yamaha uses in almost all promotional materials. The flat, non-reflective finish gives the bike a rugged, scrambler-adjacent character that stands out in the 150cc segment. Matte surfaces require more care than metallic paints: avoid regular wax, silicone-based polishes, and abrasive cloths. Use matte-specific detailing products to maintain the finish.
Deep Purplish Blue Metallic (premium variant, +Rs 8,400) The standout option. The Deep Purplish Blue Metallic is an iridescent finish that shifts between rich purple and deep blue depending on the angle and lighting. In a car park, it stops people in their tracks. In direct sunlight, it's genuinely special. The premium is Rs 8,400 over the standard variant - a one-time cost for a colour you'll live with for years.

Yamaha's paint quality on the FZ X has been well-regarded by owners. Matte variants hold their finish over two to three years of regular use, provided you stick to matte-compatible cleaning products. For the Metallic Black, standard bike wax works fine.
If you're based in a coastal city like Mumbai, Chennai, or Kochi, consider applying a ceramic coating within the first six months - it protects the painted surfaces against salt-air corrosion and makes the finish easier to clean long-term.
