The Speed Twin 1200 starts at Rs 13,83,800 ex-showroom for the standard variant, rising to Rs 16,77,600 for the RS, Rs 17,99,000 for the Cafe Racer Edition and Rs 20,99,000 for the TFC. Ex-showroom prices are uniform nationwide; everything above that is state-dependent, and on a bike this expensive the state you register in matters enormously.
On-road for the standard variant works out to roughly Rs 15,34,059 in Delhi, Rs 15,89,411 in Mumbai, Rs 16,02,871 in Chennai, Rs 16,72,439 in Hyderabad and Rs 16,99,838 in Bengaluru. That is a Rs 1,65,779 swing between the cheapest and most expensive city, driven almost entirely by road tax: Delhi charges about 8%, Maharashtra roughly 12%, Tamil Nadu around 12.6%, Telangana 18% and Karnataka close to 20%. A Bengaluru buyer pays Rs 2,76,483 in road tax alone - more than Rs 1.65 lakh more than a Delhi buyer on the identical motorcycle.
The RS follows the same pattern at a higher base: about Rs 18,55,974 on-road in Delhi, Rs 19,23,078 in Mumbai, Rs 19,42,115 in Chennai and Rs 20,56,950 in Bengaluru. The TFC crosses Rs 23 lakh on-road in Delhi and Rs 25.69 lakh in Bengaluru.
For EMI, financing the full Rs 13,83,800 ex-showroom at 9% over 36 months comes to approximately Rs 44,000 a month, dropping to around Rs 34,400 over 48 months. First-year comprehensive insurance runs about Rs 39,555 for the standard bike and Rs 44,166 for the RS, combining the IRDAI-fixed third-party premium with the own-damage component.
Running costs are the part buyers underestimate. Service intervals are a generous 16,000 km or 12 months, but a minor service costs Rs 8,000-13,000 and a major one Rs 14,000-25,000.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 On-Road Price — All Cities
Against its rivals the standard Speed Twin 1200 looks well priced: the Harley-Davidson Nightster at Rs 14,54,000 and Honda CB1000 Hornet at Rs 13,29,329 are its closest price rivals, while the BMW R 12 nineT starts near Rs 23,00,000. The Kawasaki Z900RS, long the obvious retro comparison, was discontinued in India in June 2025 and is only available used. Triumph India rarely discounts this model, so treat the ex-showroom figure as fixed and negotiate on accessories, extended warranty and the first few services instead. One genuinely useful lever: because road tax is such a large share of the total, buyers near a state border should check both RTOs before deciding where to register - though registering outside your state of residence brings its own compliance headaches, so confirm the rules with your dealer first.
