October 2024 - Commercial Deliveries Begin After more than a year of delays, Matter Motor Works commenced commercial deliveries of the AERA 5000 and 5000+ in October 2024. The original handover timeline had promised deliveries in September 2023, but the schedule slipped repeatedly - attributed publicly to gearbox calibration challenges and battery supply chain constraints. Most pre-order customers who waited through the delay report that the delivered product met or exceeded their expectations.

Gearbox OTA Firmware Updates Since initial deliveries, Matter has pushed multiple OTA updates addressing the most-reported complaint: gearbox shift feel and downshift behaviour. Reviewers who tested updated units found the gearbox marginally more forgiving with each revision, though clunky shift sounds are still reported by some owners as of 2026.

Battery Warranty and Build Quality Matter now backs the AERA's battery with a 15-year/1,50,000 km warranty and a 3-year vehicle warranty - among the most generous terms of any electric two-wheeler on sale in India, reflecting the brand's confidence as the product has matured through two years of real-world use.

Service Network At the time of delivery commencement, Matter's service network covered Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. The network has since expanded to Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Kolkata, though coverage outside major metros remains thinner than established ICE brands - a point owners in smaller cities continue to flag.

Pricing: No Change Since Launch Matter has maintained the Rs 1,83,308 / Rs 1,93,826 ex-showroom pricing since the March 2023 announcement, through delivery commencement and into mid-2026. No new variants, higher-capacity battery options, or pricing revisions have been announced as of July 2026.
