The current KTM RC 390 (2024 generation) was launched in India in 2024, and has been well-received as a significant improvement over its predecessor. The most notable changes included the redesigned full fairing inspired by the RC 8C, the BS6 Phase 2B engine update, and the addition of a cornering ABS system - a first for the RC 390 in India.
Looking ahead, spy shots of a next-generation KTM RC 390 have emerged from testing sessions abroad. The upcoming model is expected to use the newer 399 cc liquid-cooled engine from the third-generation KTM 390 Duke, which produces 46 PS and 39 Nm - a meaningful step up from the current 42.9 bhp unit. The next-gen RC 390 is anticipated to feature a 5-inch TFT console, updated WP suspension, and an even more aggressive aerodynamic package.
BikeDekho and ZigWheels estimate the 2026 KTM RC 390 (next-gen) will be priced around Rs 3.50 Lakh at launch, though official confirmation from KTM is awaited. The expected launch window is mid-2026.
In terms of sales and reception, Team-BHP owner reviews have been consistently positive for the 2024 model - with multiple owners calling it the best version of the RC 390 ever sold in India. The bike continues to command a waiting period at major KTM dealerships in metros, indicating healthy demand.

Next-generation KTM RC 390 test mules have been spotted with three key changes over the current model: a new single-piece aerodynamic fairing with a central projector headlight, the 399cc engine from the third-gen KTM 390 Duke producing 46 PS and 39 Nm, and a revised WP suspension setup. India launch is estimated for June 2026 at approximately Rs 3.50 Lakh.
KTM India has removed the KTM RC 390's pricing from its official website amid concerns around GST 2.0, which proposes to increase taxes on motorcycles above 350cc from 31% to 40%. If enacted, this could push the RC 390's on-road price up by Rs 30,000-50,000 in most cities.
KTM RC 390 has been officially discontinued in global markets including Europe, the UK, and Australia due to declining sales and the prohibitive cost of upgrading the 373cc engine to meet Euro5+ emission standards. India is confirmed as the only market where the RC 390 will continue to be sold.
Next-generation KTM RC 390 test mule was spied for the first time abroad, revealing a significantly revised fairing design taking cues from KTM's RC 8C racebike. The test mule was fitted with the 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine shared with the third-generation KTM 390 Duke.
For buyers on the fence about whether to buy now or wait for the next generation: the current RC 390 is a very complete package and represents excellent value. If the 2026 model arrives at Rs 3.50 Lakh with the 399cc engine, that will make the buying decision harder - but the current generation will likely see a price correction or run-out offers by then. As of May 2026, no confirmed India launch date for the next-gen model has been announced by KTM India.
