Kawasaki Ninja 650 News, Updates & Launch Stories
The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 was launched in India in late 2025 at Rs 7.91 lakh ex-showroom - a Rs 14,000 increase over the outgoing 2025 model (Rs 7.77 lakh). The sole update for 2026 is a new Lime Green colour scheme; mechanically and electronically the bike is identical to the 2025 model.
Before the 2026 launch, Kawasaki offered the MY2025 Ninja 650 with a discount of up to Rs 22,000, bringing it down to approximately Rs 7.55-7.71 lakh depending on the dealership and city. Buyers who acted during the discount window got an excellent deal; dealer-level stock of the 2025 model may still be available in some markets.
The 2025 model year also saw the launch of a limited KRT (Kawasaki Racing Team) Edition at Rs 11,000 above the standard model price, featuring race-replica Kawasaki Racing Team graphics. The KRT Edition was not carried forward to 2026.
Looking back further: the 2023 Ninja 650 was launched at Rs 7.12 lakh and brought BS6 Phase 2 compliance. The 2024 model kept prices stable while adding the TFT display and smartphone connectivity. The 2025 model then added KTRC traction control as standard - making the current generation the most feature-rich Ninja 650 ever sold in India.
Expectations for a mid-cycle update in 2027 centre on suspension upgrades and possibly a quickshifter, following the global 2025 update where some markets received an optional quickshifter accessory.
