Honda CBR650R Variants and Prices
The Honda CBR650R is offered in two variants in India, both sharing the same 649cc inline-four engine and chassis. The key difference is the clutch system.
CBR650R Standard - Rs 9,99,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) This is the conventional version with a manual clutch lever. It gets the full feature set: 5-inch colour TFT display, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), all-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and Showa SFF-BP forks. The slipper-assist clutch makes the lever light enough for sustained city use. If you're comfortable with a manual clutch and want to save Rs 41,000, this is the practical pick.
CBR650R STD E-Clutch - Rs 10,40,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) The E-Clutch variant adds Honda's electronically actuated clutch system. The clutch lever is still present but becomes optional - you can shift gears without touching it, and the system prevents stalls automatically. It also functions as a bi-directional quickshifter for both up and downshifts without the clutch. Honda RoadSync Bluetooth connectivity (turn-by-turn navigation, calls, messages) is added on this variant. For anyone who spends significant time in Bangalore or Delhi stop-and-go traffic, the Rs 41,000 premium for E-Clutch is genuinely worth considering.
Both variants are available in Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. Both are now officially discontinued by Honda India, so dealer stock levels will vary by city.

For most buyers, the E-Clutch variant justifies its price premium - not as a novelty but as a genuine comfort upgrade in traffic. The Rs 41,000 gap is small relative to the overall investment, and the bi-directional quickshifter alone would cost close to that as an aftermarket fitment on other bikes. That said, if you're primarily a highway or weekend rider who's comfortable with a clutch, the Standard variant is mechanically identical and saves you the money for tyres or accessories.
