January 2025 - CBR650R relaunched in India at Rs 9.99 lakh Honda brought back the CBR650R to India after a gap, pricing the Standard variant at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2025 model arrived with a completely revised design, updated 5-inch TFT display, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) as standard. The launch was a significant moment for the Indian middleweight sport segment, as the CBR650R offered inline-four performance at a price point previously unavailable.
May 2025 - E-Clutch variant launched at Rs 10.40 lakh Honda introduced the E-Clutch variant of the CBR650R at Rs 10.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), making India one of the first markets outside Europe and Japan to receive the technology. The E-Clutch system automates clutch operation while retaining the manual gear selector - a significant engineering feat that eliminates stalling and adds bi-directional quickshift capability. Honda RoadSync Bluetooth connectivity was also added on this variant.
April 2026 - CBR650R discontinued in India Honda India officially discontinued the CBR650R (along with the CB650R and X-ADV) in April 2026, citing allocated units being sold out. The discontinuation follows Honda's pattern of bringing the CBR650R to India in limited import batches - the bike has been discontinued and relaunched multiple times over its history in the Indian market. Dealers may still have remaining stock.

Honda India discontinued the CBR650R, CB650R, and X-ADV in April 2026 after all allocated CBU units were sold out. The models have been removed from the Honda BigWing configurator; a fresh allocation cycle in late 2026 or early 2027 is considered likely but unconfirmed.
Honda unveiled the 2026 CBR650R at EICMA 2025 with two updated colour options - Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic with yellow accents and Grand Prix Red - but no mechanical changes; the bike is now available in E-Clutch specification only globally.
