Honda Africa Twin Variants and Ex-Showroom Prices in India
The Honda Africa Twin CRF1100L is offered in two variants in India, differentiated entirely by transmission choice:
CRF1100L Africa Twin MT - Rs 15,96,500 (ex-showroom) This is the entry point into Africa Twin ownership. You get the full 1082.96 cc parallel twin, the complete electronics package (HSTC, 5 riding modes, dual-channel switchable ABS), the 21-inch front wheel, 24.5-litre tank, and USB-C charging socket. The six-speed manual gearbox is precise and has a light clutch action. On-road price in Delhi is approximately Rs 17.79 lakh; in Mumbai it rises to around Rs 18.53 lakh; in Bangalore expect close to Rs 19.80 lakh.
CRF1100L Africa Twin DCT - Rs 17,50,500 (ex-showroom) Pay Rs 1.54 lakh more and you get Honda's 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission in place of the manual gearbox. The DCT adds three automatic modes (Tour, Urban, Gravel) and a manual paddle-shift mode. It is the transmission of choice for long-distance tourers who want to focus on the ride, and it genuinely transforms the Africa Twin in city traffic and on technical trails. On-road price in Delhi is approximately Rs 19.49 lakh.
Both variants share identical engine output, suspension, braking, and feature set - the only difference is the gearbox. If you plan to mostly highway tour and are comfortable with a manual, the MT is the value pick. If you ride through heavy city traffic daily or plan serious off-road use, the DCT pays for itself quickly in reduced fatigue.
Note: As of May 2025, both variants are discontinued pending the 2026 BS6 Phase 2-compliant relaunch. The 2026 model is expected to retain both transmission options with locally assembled pricing in the Rs 16-18 lakh range.

When the 2026 model arrives, Honda is expected to also introduce the Africa Twin Adventure Sports alongside the standard variant - the Adventure Sports gets a larger 24.8-litre tank, electronically adjustable suspension, and more aggressive off-road tuning. That variant will be priced higher, likely above Rs 19 lakh. For most buyers, the standard CRF1100L MT represents the sweet spot of price and capability.
