Honda Africa Twin Coming Back to India in 2026 Honda discontinued the Africa Twin in India in May 2025 when the bike failed to comply with BS6 Phase 2 (OBD2B) emission norms. However, Honda has confirmed that the CRF1100L Africa Twin will make its return to the Indian market in 2026, this time with local assembly at its Manesar plant in Haryana. Local production will significantly reduce the import duty burden - the previous CBU-imported model attracted 50% import duty - making the 2026 model potentially more competitive on price.
2026 Africa Twin Revealed Globally At EICMA 2025, Honda unveiled the 2026 CRF1100L Africa Twin range for global markets. The update is primarily a cosmetics refresh - new colour options and updated graphics - with no changes to the mechanical specification. The engine, suspension, electronics, and DCT system carry over unchanged. The 2026 range includes standard Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports variants in both MT and DCT configurations.
Both Variants Coming to India Unlike the previous generation (when only the Adventure Sports variant was sold in India), Honda plans to offer both the standard Africa Twin and the Adventure Sports for the 2026 relaunch. This gives buyers a choice between the more off-road-focused standard model and the fully-loaded Adventure Sports with electronically adjustable suspension.
Expected Launch Timeline No official launch date has been announced for India yet. Based on industry reports, the 2026 Africa Twin is expected to arrive at Honda BigWing dealerships in the second half of 2026. Prices are expected in the Rs 16-21 lakh range depending on variant, with locally assembled pricing making it more accessible than the previous CBU model.

Honda India launched a voluntary recall campaign for the CRF1100L Africa Twin in the final week of January 2026, covering units manufactured between 2019 and 2025. The defect involves the left-hand switch wiring harness - repeated steering movement can cause the wire to bend and oxidise at the joint terminal, potentially affecting horn operation and high/low beam switching. Honda is replacing affected parts free of cost at BigWing Topline dealerships.
The 2026 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin range was globally unveiled on January 14, 2026, with updated colour options and new graphics across all variants - Grand Prix Red, Matt Ballistic Black Metallic, and Pearl Glare White for the standard model, plus Matt Iridium Gray Metallic for the Adventure Sports.
