Africa Twin Photos

The Honda Africa Twin is a big, purposeful-looking machine that photographs better in the metal than on a screen. At 2307 mm long and 963 mm wide, it fills the frame - but the proportions are well-balanced, with the high beak, tall windscreen, and slim mid-section giving it a leaner silhouette than its 239 kg weight suggests.

Front: The headlight cluster is a tall LED unit with DRL strips flanking the main beam. The prominent beak fender channels air and gives the Africa Twin its recognisable off-road face. Handguards are standard fitment. The wide bar ends and angled headlight cluster make the front look wide in photos but feel natural from the saddle.

Side: Spoke wheels (21-inch front, 18-inch rear) immediately communicate the off-road intent. The engine is exposed and chunky, with the twin exhaust routing high and tight under the seat. The fuel tank flows smoothly into the seat, which has a split-level design for rider and pillion.

Rear: The subframe taper and high tail section leave room for a full set of panniers and a top box. The rear LED light cluster is compact. The rear shock linkage and swingarm are visible and look robust.

Instrument cluster: A 6.5-inch TFT colour display shows riding mode, gear position, traction control level, fuel, speed, and navigation prompts. It is readable in direct sunlight, though not as wide-format as BMW's TFT units.

Seat and ergonomics: The seat surface is firm but shaped well for long-distance riding. Rider triangle is upright and commanding - good for trail riding and highway cruising alike.
