G 310 R Specifications

The BMW G 310 R is powered by a 313cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with a reverse-inclined cylinder - a BMW Motorrad engineering choice that lowers the centre of gravity by positioning the combustion chamber forward. The motor produces 34 PS at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch as standard. The top speed is approximately 143 kmph.

The chassis is a tubular steel frame with a 37mm inverted front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Suspension travel is street-biased rather than adventure-spec - this is not a bike built for rough roads, but the setup handles Mumbai's broken tarmac and expressway joints competently. Wheelbase is 1380 mm, shared with the G 310 GS, but the ground clearance is lower at approximately 170 mm given the absence of adventure bodywork.

Kerb weight is 158.5 kg - the lightest in the 300cc premium naked segment in India. Seat height is 785 mm, making it one of the most accessible bikes in the class. The fuel tank holds 11 litres, giving a practical range of approximately 290-330 km per fill at highway speeds.

Braking is handled by a disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The BS6 model's ABS is non-switchable. Tyres are street-spec: 110/70-17 at the front and 150/60-17 at the rear - tubeless on alloy wheels. The instrument cluster is an LCD unit with speed, trip, fuel level, and gear indicator; there is no TFT screen and no Bluetooth integration.
