At Rs 12.95 Lakh ex-showroom, the BMW F850 GS offered more standard kit than anything else at its price in the middleweight adventure segment - quickshifter, cruise control, heated grips, and ABS Pro all included without reaching for the options list. The 853cc parallel-twin with its 270-degree crankshaft fires in an almost V-twin rhythm, building torque early and pulling cleanly right through the rev range whether you are crawling through Bengaluru traffic or holding steady on NH44. BMW discontinued the F850 GS in India in February 2025 after six years on sale, replacing it with the F900 GS. The 860mm seat height and notchy gearbox are genuine flaws, not nitpicks, but owners who clear those hurdles consistently rate the engine character and long-haul comfort among the best in class. If the seat does not scare you off, a clean used example is still one of the smartest adventure buys available in India today.
