Apache RTX Specifications

The TVS Apache RTX is powered by the all-new RT-XD4 motor - a 299cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that makes 36 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. TVS pairs this with a six-speed gearbox that gets a bi-directional quickshifter and an assist-and-slipper clutch as standard, a rare combination in the 300cc ADV segment at this price point.

On the chassis front, the RTX uses upside-down (USD) front forks and an adjustable monoshock rear - both tuned for an adventure touring brief. Ground clearance stands at a healthy 200mm, enough to handle broken roads and mild trail sections without scraping. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are shod with dual-purpose Eurogrip tubeless tyres (110/80 front, 150/70 rear), so you can tackle light off-road without a rubber swap.

The bike weighs 180 kg kerb - manageable for its segment - and carries fuel in a 12.5-litre tank. ARAI-claimed mileage is 32 kmpl; independent highway tests have recorded figures as high as 40+ kmpl in best-case conditions, with real-world mixed riding settling around 28-32 kmpl, giving a practical range of roughly 350-500 km depending on how it's ridden.

Electronics is where the RTX punches above its price. Four ride modes (Urban, Rain, Tour, Rally) alter power delivery, traction control and ABS intervention levels. There's also switchable traction control, cruise control, TPMS, automatic headlight control, and a 5-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, TVS SmartXonnect, and turn-by-turn Google Maps navigation - a feature set you'd normally spend Rs 3-4 lakh to access in this segment.

Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel switchable ABS. Riders report sharp, progressive feel from the front disc with no sudden grabbing even on broken or damp surfaces.
