Suzuki Burgman Street 125 — Overview
In a segment full of look-alike scooters, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 stands apart with its bold maxi-scooter stance - a design language borrowed from far pricier machines. The 2026 refresh, launched on April 2, takes it further: equal 12-inch alloy wheels front and rear (the old setup had a 10-inch rear), a 24.6-litre underseat boot that actually swallows a full-face helmet, and a split LED headlight that looks nothing like anything in the 125cc class. The 124.5cc SEP fuel-injected engine now produces 8.42 PS and 10.2 Nm - modest numbers, but smooth enough that city riding feels effortless. ARAI puts the fuel efficiency at 58.5 kmpl. Three variants cover a range from Rs 1,04,944 to Rs 1,13,220 (ex-showroom, Delhi), with the top Ride Connect TFT Edition bringing a 4.2-inch colour display and Suzuki's Ride Connect app. It costs more than the Activa 125 and TVS NTorq 125. It is also noticeably better to sit on, carries more luggage, and draws more attention. If comfort and presence matter to you more than spec-sheet numbers, the Burgman is worth a serious look.
Suzuki Burgman Street 125 Latest Updates
View allBikeWale's 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street road test (published May 15, 2026) recorded a city mileage of 58.34 kmpl and a top speed of approximately 95 kmph, with a full-tank range exceeding 300 km. The review flagged firm rear suspension as the scooter's primary weakness, particularly noticeable when riding solo over sharp potholes, while praising the comfortable seating and practical 24.6-litre underseat storage.
BikeDekho published a detailed real-life image gallery of the 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street 125 on April 14, 2026, highlighting the dual-tone copper accents, 24.6-litre underseat boot, and split LED headlight. The gallery also noted a key omission: the Burgman Street 125 lacks single-channel ABS, which the Suzuki Access 125 now offers in the same segment.
Suzuki Motorcycle India officially launched the 2026 Burgman Street 125 on April 2, 2026, at three variants - Ride Connect Edition (Rs 1,04,944), EX (Rs 1,07,902), and Ride Connect TFT Edition (Rs 1,13,220), all ex-showroom Delhi. Key updates include equal 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, underseat storage expanded to 24.6 litres (up from 21.5L), a new split LED headlight inspired by the Burgman 400, and a retuned 124.5cc engine producing 8.42 PS and 10.2 Nm.
What We Like
- Maxi-scooter stance punches way above its 125cc price point - turns heads on every commute
- Wide, sofa-like seat is best-in-class - long rides and two-up comfort are genuinely excellent
- 24.6-litre underseat boot fits a full-face helmet plus groceries - the most practical 125cc scooter you can buy
- Smooth, refined engine at city speeds - relaxed 30-60 kmph performance exactly where you spend 90% of your ride time
What Could Be Better
- Firm rear suspension - sharp speed bumps and bad pothole patches remind you this is a 125cc scooter
- Priced at a clear premium over rivals - the Activa 125 and NTorq 125 both cost Rs 15,000-25,000 less
- Pillion seat can feel slippery under hard braking - an ergonomic quirk that long-term owners flag
Editor's Verdict
Should You Buy the Suzuki Burgman Street 125?
The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is the right scooter if you want the best daily-use practicality in the 125cc class - biggest boot, most comfortable seat, and a design that doesn't look like every other scooter in the parking lot. You pay for all of that. The suspension could be more forgiving on broken roads, and the engine runs out of breath above 80 kmph. But for city commuting, weekend errands, and the occasional highway stretch, it gets the job done with more character and comfort than most competitors.
