2025 Update: OBD-2B Compliance and TFT Console The most significant update to the Honda SP 125 came in 2025 when Honda brought it in line with India's OBD-2B emission monitoring norms. Beyond the regulatory compliance, Honda used the refresh to add a full-colour TFT instrument console to the DLX variant - replacing the earlier monochrome digital display. The TFT unit supports Honda RoadSync Bluetooth, enabling turn-by-turn navigation prompts, incoming call notifications, and music control through the handlebar-mounted joystick. This brought the DLX variant's feature set meaningfully closer to the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R in terms of connected functionality.
25-Year Anniversary Edition Also introduced alongside the 2025 update was the SP125 25-Year Anniversary Edition, celebrating a quarter-century of the SP series in India. Available only in Mat Steel Black Metallic, the edition carries special badging and anniversary-themed graphics. It is mechanically identical to the STD variant with drum brakes but commands a Rs 5,691 premium over it.
Price Trajectory The SP 125's base price has moved from Rs 72,900 at its BS6 launch in 2020 to Rs 88,528 today - an increase of roughly Rs 15,628 over five years, driven by OBD-2B compliance costs, commodity price inflation, and feature additions to the DLX variant.

Honda launched the SP125 25-Year Anniversary Edition at Rs 1,02,516 (ex-showroom) in August 2025, featuring Mat Steel Black Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue colours with pyrite brown metallic alloy wheels, commemorative 25-year graphics, and a TFT display - celebrating Honda's 25 years and 70 million two-wheelers manufactured in India.
Honda launched the 2025 SP125 in India starting at Rs 91,771 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in December 2024, introducing OBD-2B compliance, a new LED headlamp and taillight, updated graphics, and a 4.2-inch TFT console with Honda RoadSync Bluetooth, USB-C charging, silent starter, side-stand engine cut-off, and idle start-stop on the DLX variant.
Looking ahead, no major mechanical update is expected for the SP 125 in the near term - Honda tends to refresh the SP series on longer cycles. A possible future update could bring a larger TFT display to the STD variant or expand colour options. Buyers who plan to hold the bike for 4-5 years should not wait for the next update; the current 2025 model is a fully mature, well-sorted commuter with no known outstanding issues.
