Hero Super Splendor Xtec Full Specifications
The Hero Super Splendor Xtec runs a 124.7 cc air-cooled, OHC single-cylinder engine that makes 10.84 PS at 7500 rpm and 10.6 Nm at 6000 rpm. Those numbers look modest on paper, but this is a commuter engine built for Indian roads - it pulls cleanly from 20 km/h without protest and does not need to be revved hard to keep pace with city traffic. The 5-speed gearbox keeps things flexible whether you are crawling through a signal queue or sitting at 60 km/h on an NH.
The claimed ARAI mileage is 69 kmpl - a figure that makes more sense when you factor in the i3S idle stop-start system. Hero's i3S cuts the engine after five seconds of idling and restarts instantly when you disengage the clutch. Real-world numbers typically land between 55 and 65 kmpl depending on traffic density and throttle habits.
Kerb weight is 122 kg, which makes the bike easy to manoeuvre in tight parking and simple to handle at low speed. Seat height of 793 mm is accessible for most Indian riders. Ground clearance of 180 mm handles typical city potholes and broken surfaces, though you will notice it on sharper speed bumps.
Suspension is telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and 5-step-adjustable twin shocks at the rear. The rear adjustment is genuinely useful if you carry a pillion regularly - step it up two notches and the ride firms up meaningfully. Braking on the Drum variant uses 130 mm drums front and rear with CBS; the Disc variant upgrades the front to a 240 mm disc with a calliper, which noticeably shortens stopping distances and provides better lever feel.
On the XTEC features front: a fully digital LCD instrument cluster displays speed, fuel level, trip meters, and Bluetooth connection status. Bluetooth connectivity pairs with your phone for call and SMS alerts shown on the console. A USB charging port is mounted on the instrument pod. The LED headlight with integrated DRL is the most visible exterior upgrade over the standard Super Splendor. Side-stand engine cut-off is a safety addition. The engine is OBD2B compliant, meeting the latest emission standards without any impact on performance or fuel efficiency.

Against the Honda SP 125, the Super Splendor Xtec is 6 kg heavier but more affordable and more feature-rich on the tech side. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 makes more power (11.8 PS) but weighs 18 kg more and returns noticeably worse mileage. If fuel economy and connected features are your priorities, the Xtec's specification sheet is hard to argue with at this price. The 12-litre fuel tank gives a real-world range of around 600-700 km, making refuelling stops infrequent for most urban and semi-urban riders.
