Hero Super Splendor Xtec Latest News & Updates
The Super Splendor Xtec has maintained a steady update cadence since Hero launched the XTEC variant in 2022. The most significant change came with the OBD2B compliance update in 2023, which brought revised engine management to meet Phase 2B emission norms. Pricing was adjusted upward at that point - the current starting price of Rs 83,448 reflects the OBD2B-spec engine. The update did not alter performance or fuel efficiency figures meaningfully.
Hero MotoCorp has kept the Super Splendor Xtec's core specification stable since the OBD2B update: the 124.7 cc engine, digital console, Bluetooth connectivity, and i3S stop-start system remain unchanged. This reflects confidence in the feature set rather than development stagnation - the XTEC package has been well received by the commuter market.
In early 2025, Hero refreshed the colour lineup, retiring some older shades and introducing Matt Nexus Blue. The current four-colour palette - Gloss Black, Candy Blazing Red, Matt Nexus Blue, Matt Axis Grey - is the latest available. No mechanical changes accompanied the colour update.
As of mid-2026, no major variant changes, facelifts, or new feature additions have been announced for the Super Splendor Xtec. Hero's strategy in the 125 cc commuter segment appears focused on sustaining the XTEC sub-brand across multiple models (Splendor Plus Xtec, Passion Xtec, Super Splendor Xtec) rather than pushing individual models forward aggressively. A mid-cycle refresh with revised styling or an upgraded instrument cluster is possible in a future update, but nothing has been confirmed by Hero MotoCorp.
For buyers, the current model's stability is a positive: parts are widely available, service procedures are well-documented, and dealerships across India are familiar with the bike. There is no compelling reason to wait for an incoming update if the current specification meets your daily riding requirements.

Hero MotoCorp revised prices across the Splendor lineup for 2026, with the Super Splendor Xtec Drum variant now listed at Rs 84,448 ex-showroom - an increase of approximately Rs 1,000 over the previous Rs 83,448. The Disc variant is unaffected in most listings at Rs 88,044.
Hero MotoCorp launched the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 in the 125 cc commuter segment, priced from Rs 82,911 with a claimed 73 kmpl ARAI mileage - positioning it below the Super Splendor Xtec in the Hero lineup and targeting entry-level connected commuter buyers.
Hero MotoCorp named the Super Splendor Xtec among the best 125 cc commuter bikes of 2026 in its own marketing communications, citing the combination of 69 kmpl ARAI mileage, Bluetooth connectivity, and i3S technology as differentiators over similarly priced rivals.
Hero MotoCorp updated the Super Splendor Xtec lineup in late 2024 to meet OBD2B (Phase 2B) emission norms, with the revised engine carrying a small price premium over the outgoing OBD2A spec. The current Drum variant at Rs 83,448-84,448 and Disc at Rs 88,044 represent the OBD2B-compliant pricing.
Hero MotoCorp maintains over 9,000 service touchpoints across India, ensuring service access is available even in smaller towns. Genuine spare parts for the Super Splendor Xtec are well-stocked at authorised centres and are priced affordably given Hero's manufacturing scale. If a firmware update for the Bluetooth instrument cluster is released in the future, Hero typically deploys these through dealership service visits rather than over-the-air updates.
