December 2024: Hero Passion Xtec Discontinued Hero MotoCorp officially pulled the Passion Xtec from its active product lineup in December 2024. The model had run since 2022 and the discontinuation aligns with Hero's strategy to consolidate its commuter range around the Passion Plus and the Splendor lineup. Dealer stock is available on a clearance basis in select cities.

What it means for buyers: If you are buying a Passion Xtec in 2025, you are purchasing an end-of-line model. Hero's extensive service network (over 9,000 service points across India) will continue to support the bike for the standard industry period, and spare parts are unlikely to become scarce in the near term given the model's sales volume. However, Bluetooth module replacements and digital console parts may become harder to source beyond 4-5 years.

Ownership experience updates: A notable thread on Team-BHP (December 2023) documented owners experiencing engine stalling abruptly at low RPM - a pattern consistent with several user reviews on BikeDekho and ZigWheels. Hero's service centres have addressed some of these cases via ECU recalibration, but it is not a universal fix. Prospective buyers should ask the dealer or pre-purchase used units and test for this issue specifically before buying.

Hero's commuter direction: Hero has shifted focus towards the Passion Plus (carburettor, simpler tech) and the Splendor Plus Xtec (with similar connected tech) as its mainstream commuter offering. The Glamour Xtec plays in an overlapping price band with more cc and better refinement, making it the natural successor if you want the Xtec feature set in a new-production bike.
