X440 T News & Updates

The Harley-Davidson X440 T was launched in India on December 6, 2025 at Rs 2,79,500 ex-showroom - the second significant product update from the Hero MotoCorp - Harley-Davidson partnership that brought the original X440 to market in July 2023.

The X440 T's launch was preceded by an official unveil that gave the Indian two-wheeler press a detailed look at the changes. The most discussed upgrades in pre-launch coverage were the ride-by-wire throttle system (absent on the original X440, which used a conventional cable), the 43mm KYB USD front forks replacing conventional telescopic units, and the completely redesigned rear section inspired by the Harley-Davidson XR1200X. Harley-Davidson India confirmed 72+ individual improvements across fit, finish, and hardware.

First-ride reviews from ZigWheels, BikeWale, and Team-BHP were broadly positive - particularly praising the suspension upgrade and the improved build quality. The consensus was that the T addressed the two most frequently cited criticisms of the standard X440: the front-end dive under braking and the fit-and-finish quality gap relative to the Triumph Speed 400. Some reviewers noted that the premium over the Speed 400 remains difficult to justify on performance grounds, but acknowledged the superior electronics package.

At launch, Harley-Davidson simultaneously discontinued the base-level X440 Denim variant, streamlining the lineup to the Standard X440 (at Rs 2,35,000-2,59,000) and the new X440 T (at Rs 2,79,500). This positions the Denim's former entry-level buyers toward the standard X440 and pushes feature-seeking buyers toward the T.
