The Harley-Davidson Street Glide is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine - a 1923cc, air-cooled, 60-degree V-twin that produces 107.2 bhp at 5020 rpm and a standout 175 Nm of torque at just 3500 rpm. That torque figure is the engine's defining trait: it arrives early and stays flat across the rev range, making the Street Glide feel effortless on long highway stretches where you are almost never below 80 kmph. The six-speed gearbox is slick, and the belt final drive is whisper-quiet compared to a chain - also maintenance-free for Indian touring.

At 368 kg kerb weight, the Street Glide is among the heaviest motorcycles sold in India. The 715 mm seat height partially offsets this - shorter riders (from about 5'4") can get one or both feet flat on the ground at stops, which builds confidence. Ground clearance is 140 mm, which is acceptable for highways but means you will want to pick your speed bumps and village roads carefully.

Braking comes from a dual-disc setup with dual-channel cornering ABS - the system reads lean angle and modulates accordingly, which is genuinely useful on long tours when fatigue sets in. The front wheel is a 19-inch alloy shod with a 130/60 Dunlop; the rear is 18-inch with a 180/55. Suspension is a conventional telescopic fork up front and a twin-shock setup at the rear - both tuned for loaded touring comfort rather than sporty feedback.
