Harley-Davidson Roadster - Photo Gallery
The Harley-Davidson Roadster is one of the most visually distinctive motorcycles Harley-Davidson ever brought to India - a look that manages to feel both vintage-American and purpose-built at the same time.
From the front, the 43mm inverted fork legs dominate. Unlike the conventional chrome telescopic forks on most Sportsters, these black USD units signal immediately that this is not a standard cruiser. The twin 300mm floating front discs with radial calipers look as purposeful as they perform. The 19-inch cast alloy front wheel - larger than most Sportsters - gives the front end a tall, narrow look that accentuates the aggressive lean forward in the riding position.
The side profile is defined by the signature 12.5-litre 'walnut' petrol tank - a narrow, sculpted shape with Harley's iconic tank badges. The seat is flat and low, with a minimal rear section that ends in a stubby rear fender. Dual exhaust pipes run along the right side, finished in a dark, heat-resistant coating that matches the overall blacked-out theme.
From the rear, the 18-inch alloy wheel, 150/70-R18 tyre, and single disc brake create a clean, uncluttered appearance. The rear shock absorbers are visible and functional-looking rather than decorative.
The handlebar setup is the most immediately different element in the riding position - drag-style bars that are lower, wider, and more forward-reaching than any other Sportster in the lineup. Combined with mid-mount footpegs, the riding position places the rider in a slightly crouched, committed stance that feels energetic rather than relaxed.

The Roadster photographs best from a three-quarter front angle that captures both the USD forks and the tank's profile simultaneously. The Vivid Black variant is the most photogenic in natural light - the deep gloss amplifies the angular shadows across the tank and engine. Post-2020, well-maintained examples at bike meets continue to attract attention from riders who recognise that Harley never quite repeated the Roadster's combination of aggressive hardware and classic Sportster proportions.
