The final BS6 Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom sold in India was available in four colour options across two pricing tiers.
Single-tone colours (Rs 10.83 lakh ex-showroom Delhi):
- Billiard Red - a deep, glossy burgundy-red that reads as a classic Harley colour. Most visible in direct sunlight; ages well without fading in the Indian climate if maintained.
- River Rock Gray - a medium grey with visible metallic flake. Understated and versatile; the most practical colour for hiding minor scratches and road grime on Indian roads.
- Midnight Blue - a dark navy that reads almost black in shade and reveals its blue character in bright light. Less common in the used market; commands a slight premium from enthusiasts who specifically seek it.
Dual-tone colours (Rs 10.89 lakh ex-showroom Delhi):
- River Rock Gray/Vivid Black - gray tank and fenders with Vivid Black highlights. The two-tone combination is the most classically American-custom look of the range.
- Billiard Red/Vivid Black - red tank with black components. The most visually dramatic option and the one most associated with the Sportster's identity in Indian auto media coverage.
On the used market, Vivid Black (which was available on earlier BS4 models) and Billiard Red/Vivid Black are the most commonly listed colours. River Rock Gray in single-tone is the rarest, which can support slightly higher negotiating position for sellers in good condition.

For used buyers, colour condition on a 1200 Custom is more telling than on most bikes - the exposed fuel tank and fenders catch stone chips easily on Indian NHs. Inspect the tank closely for touch-up paint on the leading edges; factory paint depth is distinctive and obvious against respray. The chrome components (exhaust heat shields, handlebar, mirrors) are a maintenance indicator - pitted or orange-spotted chrome suggests deferred care. All four colours use Harley-Davidson's standard gloss finish; no matte options were offered on the India 1200 Custom.
