Ducati Diavel V4 — Overview
A 1158cc V4 engine in a cruiser that does 0-100 in 2.5 seconds - the Ducati Diavel V4 is not trying to be sensible, and it succeeds spectacularly. Priced from Rs 29,07,600 (ex-showroom), it's the most performance-focused power cruiser on sale in India. The Granturismo V4 - the same engine that powers the Multistrada V4 - produces 170 PS and 126 Nm, wrapped in bodywork that looks like a superbike stretched low and wide. Two colour options, cornering ABS, six riding modes, Brembo monoblock brakes, and a bi-directional quickshifter all come standard. On an open highway, nothing else in this segment comes close. In Mumbai traffic, the engine heat and 236 kg kerb weight will remind you daily that this is not a commuter. It is a statement - a very expensive, very Italian one.
Ducati Diavel V4 Latest Updates
View allDucati India is set to increase prices across its entire lineup by up to 5% from June 1, 2026. For the Diavel V4, currently priced from Rs 29,07,600 (ex-showroom), this translates to a potential increase of up to Rs 1.45 lakh on the base variant.
Ducati has confirmed the limited-edition Diavel V4 RS will come to India in 2026, with an expected ex-showroom price upwards of Rs 40 lakh. The V4 RS is a performance-focused variant of the Diavel V4 featuring the more powerful 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine from the Panigale V4.
Ducati globally unveiled the Diavel V4 RS with a 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine producing 182 hp at 11,750 rpm - 14 hp more than the standard Diavel V4. Key upgrades include Ohlins suspension, Brembo Stylema calipers, carbon-fibre components, and a 220 kg kerb weight (16 kg lighter). US dealerships began receiving units in March 2026 at $39,995.
What We Like
- Ballistic V4 performance with explosive acceleration from the 1158cc engine
- Top-spec electronics package: cornering ABS, six ride modes, traction control, launch control
- Surprisingly composed handling for a motorcycle of its size and weight
- More comfortable upright riding position than the previous Diavel generation
What Could Be Better
- Engine heats up significantly in stop-and-go city traffic
- Very high purchase price and expensive service and maintenance costs
- Heavy at 236 kg - challenging to manoeuvre at low speeds and in parking
Editor's Verdict
Should You Buy the Ducati Diavel V4?
The Ducati Diavel V4 is the best power cruiser you can buy in India if performance and electronics matter more than running costs. It is unmatched in its segment for outright speed and technology, but the Rs 29+ lakh price tag, significant city heat, and Ducati's expensive service network make it a bike you buy with your heart, not your spreadsheet. If the highway is your domain and your garage can take the attention, this is worth every rupee.
