M 1000 RR Specifications

The BMW M 1000 RR is built around a 999cc water and oil-cooled inline-four engine with BMW ShiftCam variable valve timing and four titanium valves per cylinder. Peak power is 212 PS at 14,500 rpm - a number that requires 14,500 rpm to reach, which is more race-engine behaviour than road-bike behaviour. Torque peaks at 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. Compression ratio is 13.5:1. The engine uses a bi-directional quickshifter as standard and the gearbox is a six-speed with a multiplate clutch.

The M-specific chassis features a flex frame - a bridge-type cast aluminium structure where the engine is a load-bearing element and the frame is tuned to flex in a controlled manner to provide feedback to the rider rather than rigidly transmitting all inputs. This is the same philosophy used in BMW's World Superbike programme. Front suspension is a 45mm USD fork with fully adjustable compression, rebound, and spring preload. Rear is an aluminium swingarm with Full Floater Pro shock, adjustable compression and rebound damping.

Braking is handled by twin 320mm front discs with BMW's top-specification four-piston Brembo M calipers and a 220mm rear disc. ABS is BMW Race ABS Pro - a lean-angle sensing system that adjusts intervention based on bank angle and uses an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to modulate brake force under trail braking on circuit.

The M Winglets are the M 1000 RR's most visually distinctive feature. Developed in parallel with BMW's World Superbike programme, they generate approximately 16 kg of aerodynamic downforce at 200 kmph - force that is felt as improved front wheel contact and high-speed stability rather than just a visual statement.

Kerb weight is 192 kg. Seat height is 832 mm. Fuel tank capacity is 16.5 litres. The instrument panel is a 6.5-inch TFT display with WiFi connectivity, GPS Laptimer integration, OBD diagnostics, and M startup animation.
