The Bajaj Pulsar 125 runs on a 124.38cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, twin-spark DTS-i engine producing 11.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. These are the highest power and torque figures in the 125cc segment in India - the Honda SP 125 makes 10.3 bhp, the Hero Glamour 11 bhp, and the TVS Raider 125 11.38 bhp. The Pulsar 125's Bajaj DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) technology uses two spark plugs per cylinder for more complete combustion, contributing to both performance and fuel efficiency.
Despite its segment-leading power, the Pulsar 125 achieves an ARAI-certified mileage of 51.46 kmpl - competitive with commuter-focused rivals. Real-world owners consistently report 50-55 kmpl in city conditions, with highway riding at a steady 60-70 kmph delivering 55-58 kmpl. The 12-litre fuel tank gives a practical range of 600+ km between fills.
Braking is handled by a 240mm front disc with CBS (Combined Braking System) and a 130mm rear drum. CBS links front and rear braking for balanced deceleration. ABS is not available on the Pulsar 125 - this is the single most consistent criticism in owner and reviewer feedback. All variants run 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, which is a meaningful practical advantage over tube-type spoke wheels used on some rivals.

Suspension is conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin gas shock absorbers at the rear - calibrated for city comfort rather than sporty handling.
