May 2026 - Price Hike Yamaha increased the Aerox 155's ex-showroom price by Rs 2,800 across all variants on 7 May 2026. The Standard now starts at Rs 1,43,120 and the Version S at Rs 1,46,120 in Delhi. This is the first price revision for the Aerox in 2026. Yamaha cited higher input and logistics costs as the primary reason - a justification consistent with industry-wide pricing moves in Q1 2026.
April 2024 - Version S Launched Yamaha India launched the Aerox 155 Version S with a Rs 3,000 premium over the Standard. The Version S added two key features: a Smart Key with Answer Back function (keyless ignition with a keyfob that triggers indicator blinks and a buzzer on lock/unlock) and a Traction Control System (TCS). These were both absent from the 2021 original and addressed two of the most-requested features in owner communities. The Version S also received exclusive colour options - Silver and Grey Vermillion.
2024-2025 - International Aerox Alpha, India Speculation Yamaha launched the Aerox Alpha internationally in December 2024, featuring a redesigned body, a YECVT (Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission) 'Turbo' system, and updated electronics. Multiple Indian automotive publications have published wish-list articles requesting a version of the Aerox Alpha for the Indian market, with speculation around a 2026 update. 2022 - Burnt Coupler Issue Owners of 2022-batch Aerox 155 units reported a recurring electrical failure: the connector between the alternator and main wiring harness melts under load, triggering Error 12 (Crankshaft Position Sensor Fault) and stranding the bike. Yamaha's official service response - a full wiring harness replacement at approximately Rs 13,000 - uses the same undersized connector as the original. The community workaround (replacing the connector with a ceramic or MC4 solar-grade connector) has been documented in detail on Team-BHP. Later production batches appear to use an improved connector, though Yamaha has not issued a formal recall.
