January 2025 - OBD 2B Update & New Colours Suzuki launched the updated 2025 Gixxer SF on January 9, 2025, making it compliant with the stricter OBD 2B emission regulations. The update also brought new colour options - specifically the dual-tone Metallic Oort Gray & Metallic Lush Green combination - and added Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation to the instrument cluster on both variants. Prices were revised modestly, with the standard variant landing at Rs 1,37,604 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
What Changed in 2025 Beyond OBD 2B compliance, the 2025 update introduced a revised instrument console with smartphone connectivity via the Suzuki Ride Connect app. The app supports navigation prompts, call/message alerts, and basic trip data. The engine tune itself remained unchanged - the same 13.6 PS, 13.8 Nm motor that's earned a solid reliability reputation over several years.
Next-Gen Gixxer SF - Expected Late 2026 / Early 2027 Reports from multiple industry sources suggest Suzuki is working on a significantly upgraded next-generation Gixxer range for launch toward the end of 2026 or early 2027. Expect an updated engine, possibly liquid cooling, hardware upgrades including USD forks on higher variants, a TFT instrument cluster, and a comprehensive design refresh. No official confirmation yet, but the current model has been on sale in essentially the same form since 2019, making an overhaul overdue.

Multiple credible sources including Autocar India and ZigWheels confirmed that a next-generation Suzuki Gixxer range - covering both 150cc and 250cc naked and faired models - is in development under internal project codes XF181/XF191 (150cc) and XF1C1/XF1D1 (250cc), with a coordinated Q4 2026 or early 2027 rollout targeted. The new Gixxer SF 150 is expected to feature inverted front forks, dual-channel ABS, a TFT instrument cluster on higher variants, and design cues inspired by the GSX-8R.
ZigWheels reported that current Gixxer 250 and SF 250 models saw extremely low sales - just 6 units combined in November 2025 - highlighting the urgency of Suzuki's next-gen Gixxer overhaul. The Gixxer SF 150 and Gixxer 150, as Suzuki's only India-manufactured bikes alongside the V-Strom SX, are expected to be a central part of the revival strategy.
