Kawasaki Z650RS 2026 - Available Colours and Paint Options
The 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS is available in a single colour option: Metallic Ocean Blue. This is the signature update for the 2026 model year, replacing the two-tone Ebony black that was offered previously. The Metallic Ocean Blue pairs deep blue metalwork with brushed aluminium side panel inserts, evoking the classic Kawasaki colour schemes of the 1970s Z1 era - and it looks genuinely stunning in person.
The paint quality is one of the most frequently praised aspects of the Z650RS in owner reviews. The metallic flake in the blue is deep and rich, and the attention to detail on panel gaps and chrome accents reinforces the premium positioning of the bike. Unlike some retro competitors that rely on matte finishes, Kawasaki has opted for glossy paint throughout, which shows off the curves of the fuel tank and side panels to maximum effect.
The round headlamp surround, instrument cluster, and exhaust headers feature chrome or brushed metal finishes that complement the Ocean Blue paintwork. The contrast between the coloured panels and the silver trellis frame is a deliberate design choice that highlights the frame - something most conventional motorcycles hide under plastic bodywork.
For those who preferred the understated black Ebony option, the 2025 model is still available at some dealers with a discount, and it remains a classic choice if you want the Z650RS to look less conspicuous in traffic.

Kawasaki Z650RS finished in Metallic Ocean Blue
The single-colour strategy for 2026 is a calculated risk by Kawasaki - it simplifies inventory but limits buyer choice. If Metallic Ocean Blue doesn't appeal, your only in-stock option for 2026 is to negotiate on a remaining MY25 Ebony unit. Historically, Kawasaki has rotated one or two colour options each year for the Z650RS, so a new palette option in 2027 is likely. Resale values are not significantly affected by colour choice for this model - the Z650RS retains value reasonably well given its limited production numbers in India.
