The Kawasaki Vulcan S is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 8-valve parallel-twin engine - the same architecture used in the Kawasaki Ninja 650. Braking comes from a 300mm front disc and 250mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
The most distinctive feature is the ERGO-FIT system: three-position adjustable footpegs, a multi-position seat, and reach-adjustable handlebars that together create 18 ergonomic combinations. The base seat height sits at 705mm - exceptionally low for a 650cc bike - making it accessible for riders who struggle with taller motorcycles.
At 235 kg kerb weight, the Vulcan S is not a lightweight, and its 130mm ground clearance is the specification Indian riders should scrutinise most carefully. The 14-litre fuel tank, combined with an ARAI-claimed 20.58 kmpl, gives a theoretical range of around 280 km on a full tank.
