Honda CB650R Specifications: Engine, Dimensions & Features
The Honda CB650R is built around a 649cc DOHC inline-four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine - the same architecture Honda has refined across four generations since 2019. In its 2025 form it produces 95.17 PS at 12,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm, paired to a six-speed gearbox. What's new for 2025 is the optional E-Clutch system: a set of sensors and an electronic actuator that lets you shift gears without squeezing the clutch lever. You can still use the clutch conventionally - it's there - but in city traffic most riders find they simply stop using it.
The chassis is a steel diamond frame with a 41 mm Showa Separate Function (SFF) inverted fork up front and a linkage-mounted monoshock with 10-step preload adjustment at the rear. Stopping power comes from twin 310 mm front discs with four-piston calipers and a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper, all managed by dual-channel ABS. Ground clearance is 150 mm - adequate on smooth roads but something to keep in mind if your daily commute involves rough patches.
The CB650R weighs 207 kg kerb and has a 810 mm seat height that's accessible for most Indian riders. The 15.4-litre fuel tank gives a practical range of around 300 km on the ARAI-rated 20.4 kmpl figure. Electronics are comprehensive for the segment: Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), a 5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth via the Honda RoadSync app, turn-by-turn navigation, and music and call controls. All lighting is full LED.

The CB650R's spec sheet is strong for its price band. The 649cc inline-4 is the most sophisticated engine configuration you'll find under Rs 10 lakh in India, and the E-Clutch is genuinely unique in this segment. The one area where the specs disappoint is the 150 mm ground clearance - the Triumph Trident 660, its closest rival, manages 159 mm. If your roads are consistently rough, that 9 mm difference matters more than it sounds.
