The Hero Passion Plus was relaunched in 2023 after a gap of several years, bringing back one of Hero MotoCorp's most iconic commuter nameplates with a major technical upgrade: BS6 Phase 2B compliance, fuel injection, and the i3S idle stop-start system replaced the carburettor-equipped model it succeeded.

January 2026 - Price Revision Hero MotoCorp revised the Passion Plus price by Rs 250 upward across both variants effective January 2026. The Standard variant now starts at Rs 79,074 and the Million Edition at Rs 80,574 ex-showroom. This was the first price revision for the model in 2026 and is consistent with a broader industry adjustment driven by higher input material costs. The increase is negligible and does not alter the bike's value proposition.

OBD2B Compliance The current-generation Hero Passion Plus carries OBD2B (On-Board Diagnostics Phase 2B) compliance, which became mandatory for Indian two-wheelers under updated emission norms. OBD2B adds an electronic diagnostics system that helps service technicians identify engine and emission faults more accurately and quickly - a benefit for owners during warranty service visits.

Segment Context in 2026 The 100cc commuter segment has seen increased competition in 2025-26. Honda's Shine 100 has been gaining ground with its larger 123cc engine, semi-digital console, and Honda's service reputation. Bajaj's Platina 100 continues to compete hard on mileage claims (75 kmpl ARAI). Hero MotoCorp has not announced a mid-cycle update to the Passion Plus specification for 2026 - the current feature set is expected to carry forward for the near term.

Hero MotoCorp has been investing heavily in its electric two-wheeler lineup (VIDA series) and premium motorcycle segment (Karizma XMR, Mavrick 440), which suggests the Passion Plus's core commuter specification will remain stable without major changes in the near future.
