The Harley-Davidson Nightster's design is a deliberate callback to the original Sportster, but filtered through 2020s engineering sensibility. The teardrop fuel tank, low-slung stance, and circular LED headlamp with its distinctive chrome shroud are all unmistakably Harley - but the 2-into-1 exhaust with its integrated catalyst, the blacked-out powertrain, and the 19-inch front wheel give it a lean, purposeful silhouette that is more sport-cruiser than traditional boulevard machine.

From the side, the Nightster sits low and clean. The seat hugs the frame rather than sitting on top of it, which contributes to the low 705 mm height and the visual sense that the bike is one cohesive unit rather than a collection of parts bolted together. The bar-end mirrors are a polarising choice - they look sharp but offer less rearward visibility than conventional units.

The instrument pod on the STD is a compact analogue-digital unit mounted on the triple clamp, keeping the bars clean and uncluttered. The Nightster Special replaces this with a 4-inch round TFT display that fits the retro aesthetic better than most modern screens manage.

Engine details worth noticing: the Revolution Max 975T's engine cases are shaped like a traditional 45-degree V-twin but the cylinders are actually set at 60 degrees, allowing liquid cooling channels without bloating the visual mass. Up close, the quality of the engine casting and the fit of the side panels is noticeably better than what Indian buyers were getting from Harley-Davidson a decade ago.
