Harley-Davidson Nightster Latest News and Updates
The Harley-Davidson Nightster has been available in India since August 2022, when it was launched at ₹14.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2023 update brought revised pricing and additional colour options. By 2026, the current asking price of ₹14.54 Lakh for the STD variant reflects Harley-Davidson India's effort to make the Nightster more competitive against premium European and American rivals in the ₹14-17 lakh segment.
2026 Updates: The 2026 model year Nightster retains the same 975cc Revolution Max 975T engine with no significant mechanical changes. Harley-Davidson has refreshed the colour palette - the Nightster Special now gets a Blood Orange option with XR750 flat-track graphics, while the STD continues with Whiskey Fire, Billiard Gray, and Vivid Black.
Recall Notice: Harley-Davidson issued a safety recall for Nightsters produced between December 6, 2021, and September 9, 2022, due to a handlebar weld defect that could cause the inner and outer sections to separate. Owners of affected bikes should check their VIN against the recall list on the VAHAN portal or contact their nearest HD dealership.
Nightster 440: Harley-Davidson has trademarked the "Nightster 440" name in India, indicating a sub-500cc Nightster model - likely developed with Hero MotoCorp under their existing partnership - may arrive in the country. No official launch date has been confirmed as of May 2026.
Official Updates (5)
The Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 - a bobber-styled 440cc single-cylinder bike based on the Hero X440 platform (27 HP, 38 Nm) - has been confirmed by trademark registration and is expected to launch in India by September 2026 at a price below ₹2.50 lakh, targeting first-time Harley buyers.
Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson have confirmed the extension of their India partnership, with plans to co-develop additional models beyond the X440 - the Nightster 440 is reported to be among the next products in the pipeline for a 2026 launch.
The 2026 Harley-Davidson Nightster Special gains a new Blood Orange colour with XR750 flat-track-inspired tank graphics and colour-matched fenders, along with a Blue Burst option - both exclusive to the Special variant and priced at ₹15,38,000 ex-showroom.
Harley-Davidson India has maintained ex-showroom pricing for the 2026 Nightster range at ₹14,54,000 (STD) and ₹15,38,000 (Special) with no revision, keeping it competitive against the Triumph Bonneville Bobber and Indian Scout in the ₹14-17 lakh premium cruiser segment.
The 2025 Harley-Davidson Nightster and Nightster Special were launched in India with updated colour options - the STD adds Snake Venom to its palette while the Special gets Black Denim and Bright Billiard Blue - with pricing unchanged from the previous year.
The Nightster's biggest upcoming competition may come from within the Harley family if the Nightster 440 launches at a significantly lower price point and captures entry-level premium cruiser buyers. For current 975cc Nightster owners, the bike's mechanical package is mature and well-sorted - no major engine updates are expected for the near term.
