Ducati Panigale V4 R: Variants, Prices and What You Get
Unlike the standard Panigale V4 family - which spans three variants (V4, V4 S, V4 SP2) across a price range of Rs 29.99 lakh to Rs 40.99 lakh - the Panigale V4 R is a single-specification, limited-production model. There is no 'base' or 'top' trim to choose from. Every unit gets the full Öhlins suspension package, the Brembo Stylema brakes, the Corner Sidepods aerodynamic kit, and the Ducati Racing Gearbox with neutral-below-first as standard.
The ex-showroom price across India is Rs 84.99 lakh. Being a CBU (Completely Built Up) import - assembled in Bologna and shipped to India - the on-road price varies significantly by state, driven by the differing RTO registration tax structure. In Delhi, the on-road price works out to approximately Rs 93.30 lakh. In Bangalore, which has a higher registration tax structure for premium vehicles, it climbs to approximately Rs 1.03 crore on-road.
Each unit carries a unique serial number, making the V4 R a collector-grade motorcycle as much as a performance tool. Ducati India allocates a very limited number of units per model year - if you're serious about buying one, speak to your nearest Ducati dealership before the allocation closes. Past experience with the V4 R shows that India receives fewer than 20-30 units annually.
Accessories: Ducati's own accessory catalogue for the V4 R includes a Termignoni full racing exhaust system (which brings power up to 235+ bhp and removes the catalytic converter - track use only), a data logging kit, pit lane speed limiter, and carbon fibre body panels. Budget an additional Rs 5-10 lakh if you plan to build a full track-spec bike.

For buyers choosing between the Panigale V4 family, the decision is fairly straightforward: the V4 and V4 S (Rs 29.99-35 lakh) are road-biased sportsbikes that happen to be brilliant on track. The V4 SP2 (Rs 40.99 lakh) adds carbon wheels and some track-spec components. The V4 R at Rs 84.99 lakh is a different category entirely - it is built to a WorldSBK homologation brief and happens to be road-registered. If you're not planning to use a track regularly, the V4 S gives you 90% of the experience at less than half the price.
