Engine Notes
The 115.45cc DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark ignition) engine uses two spark plugs per cylinder, which improves combustion efficiency. This is the same engine family used in the Platina 110, but tuned for a standard 4-speed gearbox without the H-Gear overdrive. At highway speeds (60+ kmph), the CT 110 engine runs at higher rpm than the Platina in H-Gear - contributing to lower highway fuel efficiency.

CT 110X Tyre Difference
The CT 110X uses smaller 17-inch wheels (versus 18-inch on the CT 110) with semi-knobby tread pattern. This gives the CT 110X better grip on loose surfaces like gravel and dirt tracks. However, on wet tarmac, the knobby pattern has marginally less contact area than a street tyre - something to note for monsoon commuters.
Comparison vs Platina 110
The CT 110 and Platina 110 share the same engine displacement but differ in key features: the Platina 110 has H-Gear (5th speed), SNS (spring-in-spring) rear suspension, and a slightly higher price. The CT 110 is simpler and cheaper. The Platina 110 is the better choice for riders who value comfort and highway mileage; the CT 110 is the better choice for those who want the lowest possible price.
