Ampere Magnus Specifications
The Ampere Magnus line splits into two spec sheets under one nameplate. Both the Magnus Neo and Magnus G Max run the same 1.5 kW nominal / 2.4 kW peak BLDC hub motor with no gearbox, so throttle response feels identical on both - the difference sits behind the motor, in the battery. The Neo pairs it with a 2.3 kWh removable LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, IDC-certified for 125 km and rated at 110 Nm at the wheel. The G Max carries a bigger 3.0 kWh removable LFP pack, certified for 142 km IDC and 130 Nm at the wheel. LFP cells matter more than the spec sheet lets on: the chemistry tolerates Indian summer heat better than the NMC cells most rivals use, and Ampere backs both packs with a 5-year/75,000 km battery warranty, well past the 3-year/50,000 km norm from TVS and Bajaj. Top speed is capped at 65 kmph on both scooters, with a 0-40 kmph sprint of roughly 6.5 seconds - the G Max's extra battery buys range and torque headroom, not outright speed.
The two models also differ on the scale. Kerb weight runs 104 kg for the Neo against 116 kg for the G Max, and seat height goes from 777 mm on the Neo to 800 mm on the G Max - worth sitting on both before you decide. Braking is where the range shares a genuine shortcoming: 130 mm drum brakes at both ends with a combined braking system (CBS), and no disc option anywhere in the current Magnus lineup, front or rear. Rivals like the TVS iQube offer a front disc at a comparable price point, so weigh that if stopping power in city traffic matters to you. Vehicle warranty on both variants is 3 years or 30,000 km, separate from the longer battery cover.

Charging time tracks battery size. The Neo's 2.3 kWh pack takes roughly 5-6 hours for a full charge on the standard charger. The G Max's larger 3.0 kWh pack needs about 7 hours 25 minutes for a complete 0-100% charge, or 5 hours 45 minutes to top up to 80% - useful if you're charging before a commute rather than overnight. Both battery packs are removable, so riders without a dedicated home charging point can carry the pack indoors instead of running a cable to the parking lot. The instrument cluster is where the two models diverge post-update: the G Max NxG.io variant runs a 5-inch PMVA digital display following its August 2026 refresh, while the Neo continues with a simpler 3.5-inch LCD console.
