350R Specifications

The Zontes 350R is built around a 348cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor that produces 38.2 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 32.8 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Power goes to the rear wheel through a six-speed manual gearbox. The claimed ARAI mileage is 40 kmpl, though real-world figures from owners settle between 30 and 34 kmpl depending on riding style.

The hardware package is solid for the price. Up front you get 43mm inverted forks, while the rear is handled by an adjustable monoshock. Both ends roll on 17-inch alloy wheels - 120/70 front and 160/60 rear - shod with CST Migra S3 tyres that offer decent grip on tarmac once warmed up. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 265mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper, both managed by dual-channel ABS. The system works, though testers have noted it intervenes early and extends stopping distances under hard braking.

The 350R sits on a steel trellis frame, and the dimensions reflect its streetfighter brief: 2,010mm long, 795mm wide and 1,120mm tall, with a 1,380mm wheelbase. Kerb weight is 180 kg and the seat height is 795mm - accessible for most Indian riders. Ground clearance is a modest 152mm, which will cause occasional scraping on tall speed bumps, especially with a pillion.

Where the 350R genuinely earns its price tag is the tech roster. The keyless ignition uses a pill-shaped fob: walk up, press a button, start the bike, walk away and it locks itself. A full-colour TFT display with four switchable modes handles instrumentation, and built-in Bluetooth links to your phone. A tyre pressure monitoring system rounds out a feature list that no competitor in this price bracket can match. Full LED lighting - including the dramatic robot-face headlight and arrowhead tail lamp - completes the package.
