Sport Specifications

The TVS Sport runs a 109.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine compliant with BS6 Phase 2 (OBD-2B) norms. TVS calls the fuel injection system ETFI - Electronic Throttle Fuel Injection - and claims it delivers 15% better mileage compared to the older carburettor-equipped 100cc Sport. The motor produces 8.08 bhp at 7,350 rpm and 8.7 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, paired to a four-speed constant mesh gearbox.

The ARAI-certified mileage is 70 kmpl, though owners consistently report 65-75 kmpl in mixed riding conditions. At a steady 50-60 kmph on highways, some riders have recorded north of 80 kmpl. The 10-litre fuel tank translates to a realistic range of 650-700 km before you need a fill-up.

At 112 kg kerb weight, the Sport is genuinely easy to manage. Seat height is 790 mm - accessible for riders of average height - and ground clearance of 175 mm handles typical Indian road conditions adequately. The wheelbase of 1,236 mm keeps the ride stable without feeling sluggish.

Braking is handled by drum setups at both ends - 130 mm at the front, 110 mm at the rear - with Synchro Braking Technology (SBT) that applies partial rear braking when you use the front lever. It's effective for city speeds but the absence of even an optional disc brake is a genuine gap at this point in the BS6 era.

Suspension is telescopic oil-damped forks up front and a 5-step preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorber. The rear can be tuned for pillion load, but the overall setup prioritises ride comfort at low speeds over bump absorption on broken surfaces. Both wheels are 17-inch alloy rims shod with tube-type tyres.

The instrument cluster is fully analogue but includes a fuel gauge, trip meter, and the signature Econometer - a live efficiency indicator that nudges you toward fuel-saving riding habits.
