TVS Orbiter Variants and Prices Explained
TVS Orbiter comes in two variants - V1 and V2 - differentiated almost entirely by battery size. Every other feature is identical across both. Here's the full breakdown.
TVS Orbiter V1 - Rs 91,550 (ex-showroom Delhi) The V1 is powered by a 1.8 kWh lithium-ion battery delivering 86 km of IDC-certified range. Charging from 0 to 80% takes 2.2 hours on the bundled 650W charger, making it one of the faster-charging options in this segment. For commuters covering 40-60 km per day, V1 charges in a typical lunch break or during a work shift.
TVS also offers V1 under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme at Rs 49,999 ex-showroom Delhi. Under BaaS, you own the scooter but lease the battery from TVS, paying a fixed monthly fee. This dramatically reduces upfront cost but adds a recurring monthly expense. BaaS is best suited for buyers with tight initial budgets who plan to own the scooter for 3+ years.
TVS Orbiter V2 - Rs 1,13,050 (ex-showroom Delhi) The V2 upgrades to a 3.1 kWh battery for 158 km of IDC range. In real-world mixed riding - Bengaluru traffic, short highway stints - expect 120-140 km per charge. Charging from 0 to 80% takes 4.1 hours. The V2 is the better long-term choice for anyone covering 80+ km daily or who wants a buffer against range anxiety.
Both variants carry identical equipment: cruise control, hill hold assist, reverse parking mode, synchronized drum brakes, LCD console with SmartXonnect, turn-by-turn navigation, geofencing, anti-theft alerts, crash detection, and OTA updates. The 33-litre storage bay, 845 mm seat, 14-inch front wheel, and 169 mm ground clearance are also shared.
Which variant should you buy? For daily runs under 60 km with reliable home/office charging: V1 at Rs 91,550. For longer commutes or shared-vehicle households with varied range needs: V2 at Rs 1,13,050. If upfront cost is the primary constraint: BaaS V1 at Rs 49,999 - just calculate the total monthly outflow (EMI + battery subscription) before committing.

The Rs 21,500 price gap between V1 and V2 is relatively small when amortised over the life of the scooter. If you can stretch to V2, the additional range will be worth it for most Indian riding conditions - especially during summer months when battery performance dips slightly. Dealer stock availability for the BaaS V1 may vary by city; confirm with your local TVS showroom. Prices shown are ex-showroom Delhi and exclude RTO, insurance, and handling charges.
