TVS Orbiter Full Specifications and Features
The TVS Orbiter is powered by a hub-mounted BLDC motor producing 2.5 kW of peak power and 120 Nm of wheel torque - calibrated for the sub-70 kmph urban commute rather than open-road performance. The motor draws from either a 1.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (V1) or a 3.1 kWh unit (V2), delivering IDC-certified ranges of 86 km and 158 km respectively. Real-world range in mixed city conditions typically falls between 70-75 km (V1) and 120-140 km (V2).
Top speed is capped at 68 kmph - appropriate for city traffic but not ideal if you regularly use expressways. Two ride modes, Eco and City, adjust throttle response and regenerative braking intensity. Eco mode prioritises range; City mode gives snappier response.
Where the Orbiter earns respect is in its chassis. The 14-inch front wheel (larger than the 12-inch norm in this segment) improves straight-line stability on India's uneven roads. Ground clearance is 169 mm - enough to clear most speed bumps and monsoon puddles. Suspension is conventional telescopic forks up front and twin rear shock absorbers, tuned for comfort over sport.
Braking uses a synchronized system - pressing either lever engages both front and rear drums simultaneously. It's safer for novice riders but lacks the bite of a front disc, which is missing from both variants. Wheel sizes are 90/90-14 (front) and 90/90-12 (rear).
The seat height at 845 mm is accessible for most Indian riders. The long, flat seat comfortably accommodates a pillion. Underseat storage clocks in at 33 litres - one of the largest in the entry-level EV segment - with room for two half-face helmets, groceries, and a light jacket. A utility pocket under the handlebar cover includes a USB charging port.
Connectivity is handled by TVS SmartXonnect, offering turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts, anti-theft alerts with geofencing, crash detection, and OTA software updates. The 5.5-inch LCD instrument cluster displays battery charge, range estimate, speed, ride mode, and connected-app notifications.

At 101 kg kerb weight, the Orbiter is among the lighter electric scooters in its price band, making it easy to manoeuvre in tight parking spots and congested bylanes. The standard 650W on-board charger takes the V1 from 0 to 80% in 2.2 hours and the V2 in 4.1 hours - overnight charging works perfectly for both. There is currently no fast-charging option. The scooter comes with a manufacturer warranty on the vehicle and a battery pack warranty - confirm current terms with your dealer as these may update.
