The engine's 270-degree firing order - shared with large-displacement V-twins - gives it a distinctive low-end character that fills in where inline-fours typically feel flat. On paper, it produces less peak power than the Honda CB750 Hornet's 90.5 bhp, but the torque curve is broader and more accessible at Indian riding speeds.

Fuel efficiency is rated at 23.8 kmpl by ARAI. Real-world owners report 20-24 kmpl in city riding and 25-28 kmpl on highways. The 14-litre tank provides a usable range of approximately 280-320 km before reserve - adequate for weekend touring between cities like Pune-Mumbai or Mysuru-Bangalore without frequent stops.

Suspension is handled by Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork - Big Piston) inverted forks at the front and a link-type Showa monoshock at the rear with preload adjustment. This is proper hardware - the SFF-BP setup is shared with bikes costing significantly more - and it shows in the settled, predictable handling that reviewers consistently praise. The only limitation is the lack of damping adjustment on either end, which limits fine-tuning for heavier riders or rough mountain roads.

Braking is via dual 310mm front discs with Nissin 4-piston radial-mount calipers and a single 240mm rear disc, all managed by dual-channel ABS. The setup is adequate but uninspiring - progression lacks the confidence expected of a Rs 9.88 lakh sportbike, and spirited riders will likely want an aftermarket brake fluid flush as an early upgrade.

Electronics are a highlight: Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) bundles three ride modes, four-level traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, ABS, and Low-RPM Assist for slow-traffic manoeuvres. The 5-inch full-colour TFT displays all of this clearly, with smartphone connectivity for calls and navigation. At this price point, the electronics package matches or exceeds everything in the segment.
