Ninja ZX-6R Specifications

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R runs a 636cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC 16-valve inline-four engine - a configuration that Kawasaki has been refining on the ZX-6R platform for over two decades. For 2026, the engine remains mechanically unchanged, making 124 PS at 13,000 rpm (127 PS when the RAM air intake is factored in) and 69 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. These are class-leading figures among the supersport bikes currently available in India.

The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter - you can upshift and downshift without the clutch at speed. A slipper clutch prevents rear wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. The gearbox action is precise and positive, something Kawasaki has consistently been praised for across the ZX-6R range.

Suspension is handled by fully adjustable Showa SFF-CA forks at the front and an adjustable Uni-Trak rear monoshock, giving experienced riders plenty of scope to tune handling for track days or highway touring. Ground clearance is 130mm - enough for most Indian roads, though aggressive speed breakers demand care given the riding position. The 17-litre fuel tank provides a realistic range of 300-350 km per fill, with Kawasaki's ARAI-claimed efficiency of 23.6 kmpl. Indian owners report 17-20 kmpl in real-world mixed riding, depending heavily on throttle use. The seat height is 830mm - tall for average Indian riders, but manageable once you're in motion.

The electronics package includes KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System), dual-channel ABS, 3-level traction control, 4 riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain, Rider), a 4.3-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, and a cornering management system. Front braking uses dual 310mm petal discs with radial-mount four-piston calipers. A 220mm rear disc rounds out the braking hardware.
