Shine Specifications

The Honda Shine 125 is powered by a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve engine producing 10.63 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The motor pairs with a 5-speed constant-mesh gearbox with chain drive. Honda's PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) keeps the engine responsive across varying throttle inputs, and the OBD2B-compliant tune meets BS6 Phase 2 and E20 fuel norms without sacrificing everyday usability.

The ARAI-certified mileage is 55 kmpl, and real-world owners consistently report 55-65 kmpl under mixed city and highway conditions - among the best in the 125cc segment. With a 10.5-litre tank (and 1.3-litre reserve), you get a theoretical range of around 577 km per fill.

At the kerb, the Shine weighs 113 kg and sits at a 791mm seat height that most riders can manage comfortably. Ground clearance is 162mm - enough for typical Indian city road surfaces without bottoming out on large speed bumps. The 2,046mm length and 1,285mm wheelbase keep the bike manoeuvrable in tight traffic.

Suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers with 5-step preload adjustability at the rear - a comfort-first setup that suits daily commuting well. Braking uses Honda's CBS (Combined Braking System). The Drum variant gets 130mm drum brakes at both ends. The Disc and Limited Edition variants upgrade the front to a 240mm disc, which offers meaningfully shorter stopping distances in real-world city riding.

Both ends roll on 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres: 80/100-18 front and 90/100-18 rear. The wider 90-section rear tyre is new for 2025, adding a more planted feel in corners. The 2025 model also includes an idling stop system that cuts the engine during extended stops - Honda claims this contributes a few additional kilometres to real-world efficiency.
