Hero Xpulse 210 Base vs Top: Which Variant to Buy?

The Xpulse 210 is available in two standard variants - Base and Top - plus a Dakar Edition expected to arrive in India later in 2026.

Xpulse 210 Base - Rs 1,66,780 (ex-showroom)

Don't let "Base" fool you - this isn't a stripped spec. The Base gets the full 210cc liquid-cooled engine, 3-mode switchable ABS, 210mm long-travel forks, LED projector headlamp, and dual-disc brakes. The semi-digital instrument cluster reads speed, RPM, gear position, fuel level, and trip meters - perfectly functional for everyday and off-road use.

What you miss: TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, tall windscreen visor, rear parcel rack, and the slipper and assist clutch. Colour options are restricted to Wild Red and Glacier White.

Xpulse 210 Top - Rs 1,75,971 (ex-showroom)

The Top adds the 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display with Hero Connect app integration, enabling turn-by-turn navigation and call/music alerts. The slipper and assist clutch is a safety-relevant upgrade for off-road riding - it actively prevents rear wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. You also get a tall windscreen (meaningful highway wind protection) and a rear parcel rack for light luggage.

Alpine Silver and Azure Blue are exclusive to the Top variant.

The Rs 9,191 gap between Base and Top is one of the better value propositions in this segment. If navigation, highway comfort, or off-road descents matter to you, the Top is the right choice.

Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition - Price TBA

Unveiled at EICMA 2025, the Dakar Edition adds fully adjustable front and rear suspension with longer travel, rally-specific geometry tuning, and a Dakar livery. Expected Indian launch: late 2026. Anticipated price: ~Rs 30,000 above the Top variant (approximately Rs 2.05-2.10 lakh ex-showroom).

For most buyers, the Top at Rs 1,75,971 is the right call. The TFT display, navigation, and slipper clutch together make a strong Rs 9,191 case - and you gain two additional colour options.

The Base makes sense only if you're very budget-constrained or plan to use the bike exclusively for serious off-road riding where the TFT display risks damage from rocks and debris. Even then, the slipper clutch alone is worth considering the upgrade.

Don't wait for the Dakar Edition unless you're a serious off-road enthusiast - the standard Top's suspension handles most trail scenarios most weekend riders will ever encounter. Waiting until late 2026 for an unconfirmed launch date isn't worth it for the majority of buyers.

On-road prices (Base variant, approximate):

  • Delhi: Rs 1,91,578
  • Mumbai: Rs 1,92,765
  • Bangalore: Rs 2,14,968
  • Chennai: Rs 1,97,230
  • Hyderabad: Rs 2,02,346
