Hero Xpulse 210 Specifications: Engine, Suspension & Features
The Hero Xpulse 210 is built around a 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-valve engine - a meaningful step up from the air-cooled 200cc unit in its predecessor. Peak power is 24.2 bhp (24.6 PS) at 9,250 rpm with 20.7 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm, sent through a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch (Top variant).
The engine has a clear mid-range bias, pulling strongly between 5,000 and 7,000 rpm - exactly the character you want for an adventure bike. It makes overtakes on highways smooth and off-road trail sections punchy without demanding constant gearshifts.
Suspension & Chassis The Xpulse 210 rides on a semi-double cradle steel frame. Up front, long-travel telescopic forks offer 210mm of travel. Rear suspension is a monoshock with linkage providing 205mm travel. Ground clearance stands at 220mm - sufficient for most rocky trails and deep ruts. The 21-inch front / 18-inch rear spoke wheels carry dual-sport tube-type tyres.
Braking & Safety Dual disc brakes - 276mm front, 220mm rear - work with a switchable dual-channel ABS system in three modes: Road (standard), Off-road (reduced rear ABS), and Rally (full ABS bypass). This is hardware you'd normally find on bikes priced at Rs 3-4 lakh.

The Xpulse 210's spec sheet punches well above its price. Liquid cooling, 3-mode switchable ABS, and long-travel suspension under Rs 1.8 lakh is a combination nothing else in this segment can match.
The 830mm seat height may give shorter riders pause - it requires a slight tiptoe at standstill for riders below 5'6". However, the relatively light 168 kg kerb weight makes low-speed manoeuvring far more manageable than heavier adventure bikes. In real-world use, this matters more than the spec sheet suggests.
One note on the slipper clutch: it's only on the Top variant. For off-road riding, the slipper clutch is a meaningful safety feature - it prevents rear wheel lockup during aggressive downshifts on descents. If off-road riding is your priority, the Top variant's slipper clutch alone justifies the Rs 9,191 premium.
