Hero Splendor Plus News & Updates 2026
January 2026 - Price Revision Across All Variants Hero MotoCorp revised the Splendor Plus prices upward by Rs 250 across all four variants effective January 2026, bringing the base variant to Rs 76,249. The revision is part of Hero's routine annual pricing adjustment to account for input cost changes and regulatory compliance costs. The mechanical package remains unchanged.
OBD2B Compliance Update All 2026 Hero Splendor Plus variants now carry the OBD2B (On-Board Diagnostics 2B) designation, as mandated by the Indian government for two-wheelers from April 2025. OBD2B equips the motorcycle with more advanced diagnostics capabilities, allowing mechanics to read fault codes directly from the ECU - a step toward more efficient servicing at Hero's nationwide network.
The XTEC Line Continues in Parallel While the standard Splendor Plus lineup remains fundamentally unchanged, Hero continues to sell the Splendor Plus XTEC and XTEC 2.0 as premium variants with LCD instrument clusters, Bluetooth connectivity, and disc brakes. The XTEC 2.0 claims 73 kmpl - slightly better than the standard Splendor Plus's 70 kmpl. These sit above the standard line in pricing.
Splendor Electric on the Horizon Hero has confirmed development of an electric variant of the Splendor - a move that would bring EV technology to India's highest-volume segment. No official launch date has been confirmed, but the development signals Hero's intent to protect the Splendor franchise as the market transitions toward electrification.
Official Updates (3)
The Splendor family (led by the Splendor Plus) sold 3.14 lakh units in March 2026, representing over 60% of Hero MotoCorp's total domestic sales of 5.98 lakh units for the month - a 3% year-on-year increase.
Hero MotoCorp updated all Hero Splendor Plus variants to OBD2B compliance in early 2026, as mandated for two-wheelers from April 2025. The update adds advanced on-board diagnostics for more efficient dealer servicing; no mechanical or performance changes accompany it.
Hero MotoCorp raised ex-showroom prices of all Hero Splendor Plus variants by Rs 250 in January 2026, bringing the base Drum Brake variant to Rs 76,249. The revision reflects routine input cost adjustments; no changes were made to the bike's specifications or features.
The Hero Splendor Plus has been India's best-selling motorcycle for most of its 25-year existence. The 2026 updates are evolutionary rather than revolutionary - consistent with Hero's approach of refining a proven formula rather than disrupting it.
