Bajaj Avenger Street 220 Full Specifications
The Bajaj Avenger Street 220 runs on a 220cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled DTS-i fuel-injected engine producing 19.03 PS at 8,500 rpm and 17.55 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The same powertrain has been in production for over a decade in the Avenger Cruise 220, which means it's a known quantity - reliable, refined, and tuned for long-distance cruising rather than aggressive acceleration.
The engine is at its best between 80-100 kmph - smooth, low-vibration, and surprisingly efficient for a 220cc unit. ARAI-certified mileage is 40 kmpl, and real-world riders of the Cruise 220 (identical powertrain) consistently report 35-42 kmpl. The 13-litre fuel tank gives a real-world range of 450-520 km - enough for a Pune-to-Mumbai return with fuel to spare.
The Street 220 weighs 163 kg at kerb - light for a cruiser, and meaningfully easier to manoeuvre than the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (181 kg). The 737mm seat height is the lowest in the cruiser segment and allows flat-footing for most riders under 5'6".
Braking is handled by a 280mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a rear drum brake. Ground clearance is 169mm - adequate for city roads and light highway use, though the long wheelbase means scraping is possible over sharp speed breakers.

The instrument cluster is a round LCD unit displaying speed, fuel level, trip meter, and engine diagnostics - functional but clearly not modern. There is no Bluetooth, no smartphone connectivity, and no semi-digital display. The suspension - telescopic forks up front, 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear - is comfort-biased and suited to long-distance highway use over sporty handling.
Spoke wheels with tube-type tyres (90/90-17 front, 130/90-15 rear) are a notable limitation - puncture repair is more cumbersome than tubeless setups, and there is no factory alloy wheel option.
