Crossed the one year mark with my Meteor 350 last month, sitting at just over 9,000 km, and honestly this has been one of the most drama-free ownership experiences I've had with any vehicle. Bought it mainly for weekend highway runs and the occasional long tour, and it's handled everything I've thrown at it without a single major issue so far, touchwood.

Build quality has genuinely impressed me - no rattles, no squeaks even after some rough stretches on hill roads, and service costs have stayed low compared to what I was bracing for. Mileage isn't the headline feature here, I'm averaging in the low 30s which is respectable for a cruiser this size rather than class-leading, but I wasn't buying this for fuel economy anyway. The seating position is what sold me, hours in the saddle without the usual wrist and shoulder ache I got on my old naked bike.

This site's Meteor 350 page is worth a read if you're torn between the Classic and Hunter too, and the Tourer trim windscreen is worth considering for highway distances. Only minor gripe is wind blast at sustained 100+ speeds since there's no real fairing, and the kerb weight makes tight parking a bit of a wrestling match. Anyone running aftermarket windscreens or backrests worth recommending?

Almost exactly my experience too, just crossed 11,000 km on mine and zero major issues to report. The comfort factor is what keeps me coming back to this over faster options in the segment, I did a 600 km trip last month over two days and got off feeling far fresher than expected. Service costs have genuinely stayed low for me as well, my mechanic said the J-series platform is proving to be one of the more dependable things RE has put out in years.

Good to hear your reliability story, mine's been mostly good too but not entirely issue-free like yours - had to get the clutch cable replaced a bit earlier than I expected, around the 6,000 km mark, though the dealer sorted it quickly under warranty without any argument. Not a big deal in the grand scheme but wanted to mention it so people don't assume every unit will be perfect. Agree completely on the seating comfort though, that's the standout feature for me too over anything else on the spec sheet.

On the windscreen question - I fitted an aftermarket one after facing the same wind blast complaint on a highway trip, made a noticeable difference above 90 kmph, worth the money if you're doing regular long rides. For pillion comfort a gel seat cover helped my wife a lot on longer stretches too. Question back to you - are you still on the stock tyres at 9,000 km, and how's the wear looking? Curious since I'm coming up on that mark myself soon.
