FZS FI V4 Specifications

The Yamaha FZS FI V4 is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder SOHC engine with fuel injection. It produces 12.4 PS at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, paired with a slick 5-speed gearbox. These numbers aren't class-leading, but the way the engine delivers them - smooth, linear, and free of vibration - is what the FZ-S has always been about.

Fuel efficiency is rated at 46 kmpl by ARAI, though most owners report between 44-50 kmpl depending on riding conditions. With a 13-litre fuel tank, that gives you a realistic range of around 570-600 km per fill-up - enough for most city riders to visit the petrol station just once a week.

At 136 kg kerb weight, the FZS FI V4 is among the lighter bikes in the 150cc segment. The seat height of 790 mm is manageable for most riders, though shorter riders might feel a slight stretch initially.

Suspension is handled by a telescopic fork up front and a 7-step adjustable Monocross setup at the rear. The rear unit is a practical feature, letting you stiffen or soften the ride based on load - useful if you occasionally carry a pillion or luggage. Ground clearance of 165 mm is adequate for Indian road conditions.

Braking uses disc brakes at both ends, backed by single-channel ABS. The ABS is effective on wet roads and sudden stops, though the single-channel setup means only the front wheel gets ABS protection - the rear can lock under hard braking.

On the features front, the FZS FI V4 Deluxe variant adds LED blinkers over the STD's bulb indicators, and both variants come with Y-Connect Bluetooth - Yamaha's app that shows last-parked location, battery voltage, average speed, and service reminders on your phone. It's a practical, useful system that holds up in daily use.
