TVS Ronin Specifications & Features
The TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC, oil-cooled engine producing 20.4 PS at 7,750 rpm and 19.93 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm, meeting BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. Power isn't the headline here - the torque delivery is broad and accessible, so the engine pulls cleanly from low revs, which suits stop-start city riding better than a peaky, high-revving motor would. A 5-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch is standard across every variant, a genuinely generous inclusion at this price point. TVS claims a top speed of 120 kmph.
The chassis uses a 1,357 mm wheelbase and 181 mm of ground clearance - enough to shrug off speed breakers and mildly broken tarmac without scraping. Kerb weight is a light 159 kg, making the Ronin easy to filter through traffic or walk backward out of a tight parking spot. Seat height is 795 mm, accessible to most Indian riders.
Suspension differs by trim: Base and Mid variants get conventional telescopic front forks with a rear monoshock, while the Top variant upgrades to USD (upside-down) front forks for noticeably better feedback on broken roads. Braking comes from a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. ABS is split by trim - the Base gets single-channel ABS (front wheel only), while the Mid and Top get dual-channel ABS. The Top additionally offers Rain and Road ABS riding modes that adjust intervention thresholds, genuinely useful during monsoon commutes or on wet NH44 stretches.
Tyres are 110/70-17 front and 130/70-17 rear, both tubeless. Full-LED lighting is standard across the range, and the digital instrument cluster displays gear position, fuel level, distance-to-empty, and - on Mid and Top variants with SmartXonnect Bluetooth - turn-by-turn navigation prompts and call/SMS alerts. The 14-litre fuel tank, combined with the 42.95 kmpl ARAI-rated mileage, gives a theoretical range of over 580 km per fill.

Real-world mileage tracks the ARAI figure of 42.95 kmpl closely - owners consistently report 40+ kmpl across mixed city and highway riding, among the best figures in the retro-roadster segment. The SmartXonnect Bluetooth suite, standard from the Mid variant, handles turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and ride analytics through a paired smartphone app. The Top variant's Rain and Road ABS modes are more than a marketing checkbox - Road mode permits marginally more wheel slip before intervening, which experienced riders will notice on twisty ghat sections or spirited weekend runs. Across the range, the assist and slipper clutch reduces lever effort in traffic and prevents rear-wheel hop on aggressive downshifts.
